Martina McBride’s National Anthem Opens AFC Championship Game

Martina McBride, the 44-year-old country music singer, opened up Sunday’s AFC Championship Game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets by singing the national anthem.

Martina McBride and Joe Nichols will be performing at Sunday's (Jan. 23) AFC Championship game when the New York Jets meet the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. McBride will sing the national anthem, and Nichols will provide the halftime entertainment at the game that airs at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS. It marks a return appearance for McBride. Kid Rock spends his share of time here in Nashville, but the rock megastar still calls Detroit home, and thus that was where he held his massive 40th birthday blowout concert Saturday.
