Mel Kiper 2011 Mock Draft

49ers NFL Mock Draft 2011: Mel Kiper, Todd McShay Speak

Now that the 2011 NFL Draft season is officially upon us, Mel Kiper and Todd McShay are fully dragged out of the woodshed much like the groundhog. They've turned draft prognostication into a year-round business, but post-bowl season is when they start to make more and more appearances on ESPN.com and on Sportscenter. I bring all this up because Mel Kiper released his first official NFL mock draft of 2011, while Todd McShay and Scouts Inc. released their second. ( Readmore... )

Mel Kiper Mock Draft 1.0: Titans and Texas A&M OLB Von Miller

Mel Kiper has put out his first mock draft of the draft season (In$ider) and he has the Titans taking Texas A&M OLB Von Miller. My problem with this pick is that he would have to play defensive end in the 4-3, and I don't see the Titans spending a second consecutive third first round pick on a defensive end (especially with no one to coach him). Mel Kiper Jr: Bengals Select Defensive End Da'Quan Bowers

Free agency would typically dominate the variables as to whom the Bengals would draft. In this year's case, the Bengals have to decide what to do in the secondary at multiple positions, running back and even linebacker, defensive line and the offensive line.

Unfortunately, if no deal is struck before the March 4 deadline, then no free agency will happen and the Bengals can't sign their own, nor sign anyone else that's available. Like every team in the NFL, they'll have to depend on the draft for those improvements until the CBA is finally signed. ( Readmore... )

2011 NFL Draft: Mid-week mock draft madness, now with Mel Kiper

With Josh McDaniels as the St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator, just how does that change the Rams' offseason approach to finding a wide receiver? Maybe it doesn't. It's not as though that glaring team need wasn't obvious long before Pat Shurmur was ever a twinkle in Mike Holmgren's eye. ( Readmore... )
