Taco Bell Meat: Where's The Beef ?

Taco Bell's beef has come under fire, but if only 36 percent of the "beef" is actually beef by volume, what's the rest made of?

Ranging from cocoa power to terms as generic as "spices," the other 64 percent is made up of a wide range of fillers, extenders and preservatives.

Can this be called beef at all? The Alabama law firm bringing the suit against the chain doesn't think so. ( Readmore... )

Taco Bell Meat: Not Really Meat!

Taco Bell has finally proven just how good they are at thinking outside the bun. Turns out they’re thinking outside the beef, as well. The fast food chain has been in the news quite a bit recently, initially because they pulled their ads from MTV’s Skins, and now because they’re being sued for false-advertising.

Lawsuit Claims That Taco Bell's Meat Is Indeed a Mystery

This shouldn't really come as a surprise, but according to a lawsuit filed in Alabama, the "meat" used in Taco Bell dishes isn't really meat.

A class action lawsuit filed by a Montgomery, AL., law firm claims that the fast-food chain uses false advertising in claiming that the filling in its "beef" menu items (such as its beefy crunch burrito) is made from "seasoned ground beef" or "seasoned beef." The taco meat filling, the lawsuit states rather bluntly, "is not beef" according to the minimum standards set by the USDA. ( Readmore... )
